If you are worried about the water injection system couldn't you just disable it for the times you use the N20?

Great numbers man, I hope one day my '96 can lay 800+ down as consistantly as yours does! :rockwoot: What is your twin turbo setup if you don't mind me asking?
--------------
Muddin_dude:

I can't disconnect my water system as the EGT's just get way too high.

My twin turbo system consists of a Schwitzer 62/12 on the top and a B-2 on the bottom.

SINNER:

You are very welcome!

It was great to have finally met you. Good luck on the build-up of your truck.
I know you will get it where you want it.

Are they just run-of-the-mill turbos or do they have custom stuff done? I thought maybe if you turned it off you could use the N20 to cool the EGT's...? None the less man that truck has me in deffinate envy, I think right now I would be lucky to get 400+!! Haha

Thanks for your kind words.

The turbos are standard Schwitzer Turbos, as I said, the top charger being a 62/12 and the bottom a Schwitzer B-2, which is based on the S-400 chassis.
I hear what you are saying on possibly "substituting" the water with the NOS,.....BUT,.......I still do not feel the NOS would be able to cool the engine down enough to keep me out of the "red zone." My Scheid Water System easily is able to keep my EGT's around 1400-1450 max. even under WOT conditions and in high heat and humidity. I ran it ALOT this summer at many dragstrips across the U.S. in extreme heat and humidity and also at high altitude in Denver. I never once experienced any problems with excess EGT's! I have been accused of using methanol with my distilled water, but I CANNOT run methanol because of the high "fixed" timing with the P-7100 fuel pump as the methanol caused terrible detonation in my engine. I run the distilled water with an additive of anti-rust/water pump lubricant that I purchase at NAPA and that's it.

Hope this has helped explain some of this for you.

John, what degree of timing did you experience detonation with?

BTW I was in PA on sat when you ran and it stopped me mid conversation with one of my buddies when the hammer on your truck dropped:clap:

John,

Congrats on the numbers man!

Sorry i missed another opportunity to meet you in person... I wasn't able to make the event this year for good reasons!

Later,

Chris

Thanks for your comments!

Signal,......I began hearing the detonation at 20 degrees of timing. After that,
I dropped the timing down to 18 degrees just to see if it would help and it was still there pretty bad on my truck. I would begin to hear it at about the area where my power really starts (around 2600 RPM) and it would continue to detonate all the way up the RPM band!! The mixture at that time was about 12-15% (meth to distilled water) which I did not feel was really too extreme. IMHO, it is a scary sound in the engine. On my truck, it sounds like "severe" spark ping like you would hear in a gas engine and actually seems to get worse s you go up in the RPM's.

Hope that helps explain it some.

Thanks for your nice comments! It was good to have finally met you too!
I wish Johnner could have made it so you guys could have talked about the 6-speeds some!

Nice numbers there Mr. P. Nice to see some "old school" technology still doin some good out there. BTW. My wife just brought home some cheese curds!!!

Once again, congrats on the 891 :) I think a big 4 digit number is possible with a little more tuning and a little more N2O. Of course, since the truck already runs 11.50s... LOL. Sounds great in the video!

Congrats buddy, 891!! WOW!! Funny how well those Scheid diesel trucks run??? Must be VooDoo baby!!:rockwoot: :rockwoot: From my favorite 426 hemi commercial!!

Now since Banks fired Greg, we must listen to him and add more N2O to be "smoke free":cheer: :cheer: and as he said " clear the air" what a _____.

Anyways :cheer: a big congrats and see you on the 10th!! Even though I will be happy with a little more than half of what you have!!:Cheer:

Travis, Johnner and Phil:

Thanks for the nice comments guys!:rockwoot: Johnner, thanks for your all your help in getting the truck "tuned-up" some more this past year. Were getting there.

Travis, we will be at the Dec. 30th Detroit Game. Let's try to hook up.

Phil,......your truck runs DARN GOOD now and I can't wait to see the dyno numbers in Durham on Nov. 10th.
