just blew my head gasket.

Well just an update on where my truck is now. I ended up just getting the head decked and I put a set of studs on it also. I literally got the truck back together the day before i dynoed it. You guys are right about it running out of fuel on top, it still has a stock lift pump. It is currently parked right now. Until i get a FASS or Airdog, and a different turbo setup (any suggestions??). I also got 60 lb valve springs installed while i had the head off. This truck isnt a daily driver, its just a toy :)

This truck was going to be a dedicated workstock puller, but i dont believe a cummins with a stock turbo can compete with a duramax or 6.4 powerstroke. Thats just my opinion though

I still think a 12 valve can compete. If i had the money to sink into it i would be trying. Nobody has put the time into it to make it work. Its too easy to buy a CR and EFI live these days i guess. You are at 470hp. A lift pump and some other small things should have you over 500hp. That would be a very strong truck in work stock IMO. I know for a fact most WS trucks around here are looking at around 550hp.

if it wasn't hot when it blew you shouldn't have to worry about decking the head an what not.

I'll call bull**** here. Every head I blew a gasket on got got checked with the digital readout on the mill, and every one was between .002 and .005 out. Maybe i'm unlucky but I'd say 75 bucks at the machine shop is pretty cheap insurance.

Glad to see you decked it and studded it. Good man.

I paid 100 bucks to have it decked, magna fluxed, new valve seals, and valve springs put in. I can sleep better at night now lol
