Who has one and what does it take to run one. Truck i'm putting it on has a 180 pump with 4k governor springs that is getting benched right now should have back this week. What injectors should we throw at it I was thinking some 5x14 or bigger? You think it will spool with this setup. This truck will only be doing drag racing and messing around on the street occasionally no sled pulling.

What converter/stall speed do you see? I think that's going to be your biggest variable in will it spool or not.

It isn't marked what size it is. It looks about the same size as my 1.15 ar gt42and it is a wastegated housing. It has a 1600 rpm stall convertor.

i have one with a 180 pump,4k springs,0 plate, ddp delivery valves, II dragon flows, and 18*. with 4.10 gears with 33's and 92% suncoast tripple disk it's not too laggy...its lazy but i can spool it no problem with my setup, even to 8psi in 2wd, but its not lite until about 15psi. pump hasn't been benched yet as i have plenty of fuel for this charger. also i have a about a .88 housing on it but its a t6 and it goes to my stock t3 manifold and i have a slight exhaust leak and i can still pin my 60psi boost gauge on the street :bang

I hope the k31 is a lot quicker to lite than a s400 then. I'm thinking you'd benefit from a looser stall. $.02

What stall is in yours nick? Were thinking about hitting it with a little nitrous to if it has a hard time, or maybe a quick spool flange. And if all else fails I guess we could just twin it with the stock turbo. But I wanna try it out just to see how it does as a single.

I'm rolling with about an 1800 rpm stall (15 blade left cut goerend) and am about to install a stock stall.

Nitrous or a quick spool flange should help quite a bit but 1600 is still pretty tight! Cool deal, let us know how she rolls:Cheer:

From what I've seen on trucks out my way the K31's don't like nitrous, and some of the trucks had a hard time spooling them at the line too, and they end up wiping out there tranny.

Bponci's been saying for a couple of years that a 64/71 is more than you'll ever need, I was one of the few that payed attention to that. He backed up his claims of the 64 being better than a 66 with track times. I was able to dyno a 66/71/14 and then a 64/71/14. The 64 made 29hp more and dropped egt's at least 300* on the dyno runs.

I have custom billet K31 from II and its not bad at all.considering the size lol but mine has billet wheels, tight. Turbine housings and a 12 blade turbine wheel. Ill be hooking up nitrous to mine this weekend

why so much turbo for such little fuel? w/ 5x14's and a tight converter, I'd be running a 62/68 or something like that.

I agree on the K31 + nitrous thing... seen one go kablewie, but it was running a lot more than 5x14's and a benched 180 :o

I will be running 5x.018s and a benched pump shortly, and im not gonna be running much nitrous but well see !

As for the OP i would run at least 5x.018s as well

The 5x14's was just a guess on what size we would need. You think some 5x18's would work better or something even bigger. The car this stuff is all going in is just a toy it serves no purpose but to mess around on the street and occasionally run down the strip. So if it doesn't work we'll just pull it off and do something different. But we came across this k31 dirt cheap and thought we would try it out. Thanks for all the input.

I gained 2mph over silvebullet on the 1/4. Went from numerious 109mph to numerious 111mph runs with the K31.

What are the specs on your turbo ? Mine has a billet comp wheel, 12 blade turbine, and a 16cm housing. Mine is not a bad turbo at all, just wonderin how yours is so the OP can compare !

How much nitrous ?? :hehe:
.075 jet on a progressive controller was more than mine could take. The exhaust wheel and the shaft are fusion welded together. They will separate at the slightest bit of stress.

The 71mm s400 that replaced it takes .125 jet and wants more.
