looking to make a kill switch and looking for suggestion. yea i know i can make one for air but is there any other way?

Why don't you want to do one to kill the air?

I have to think there is a reason everyone uses air shutoffs...

Could you kill the voltage to the pump. If so i have a diagram of the wires going to the pump.

The main reason people use an air shut-off is because if anything that burns (oil is a big one) gets sucked into the engine the engine will run away, usually turns enough uncontrolled rpm that it kills itself. Diesel engines are fed by two things, air and fuel, you need to cut one to make sure it dies.

Three way dump valves usually take care of the fuel shut-off, as per the safety rules

I was thinking of a mechanical pump:bang

Plus I've had a lot od whiskey. If I make the chat tonight it could be intersting...:hehe:

don't OD on whiskey! as tempting as it might sound...

what kind of whiskey you workin' on tonight?

Jack Daniels, as usual. Homemade sours:D

And I hate having way to much, but really enjoy a little more than I should:D Should have said "of whiskey":Cheer:

I can't say I approve of your choice of whiskey, but good on ya if it's putting a smile on your face
I have had all sorts of Canadian/Scotch whiskeys, and I just like JD. Even more than my Dad's 25 year old single malts.

I also enjoy Knob Creek, and Maker's Mark. The Pendleton whiskey is just now avallable in OK, I'm wanting to try it. What's your pick?

I like the Jim Beam Black Label. Had way to much of that once:D

Turns out that the fifths are not single serving bottles:hehe::rules:

don't tell my wife that!

I like Knob Creek, Bookers, Blantons, etc. etc.

one of the best bangs for the buck IMO is Bulleit... it's a dang good bourbon for the money and not popular, so the price doesn't seem to go up any :) (sorry for the highjack! LOL!)

Ok here we go these are the wires at the pump plug.

PIN 1 Black DataLink(-)Fuel Inj
PIN 2 White DL (+) Fuel Inj. Pump
PIN 3
PIN 4 VIO/Orange CMP SIG (my guess cam position signal)
PIN 5 LIght Blue/Red Fuel shutoff (i cut this wire and it did nothing truck still ran)
PIN 6 Black/Tan GND
PIN 7 Red/Light Green Fuel Pump Relay in PDC
PIN 8 Dark Green Fault SIG

I would think that if you killed the votage at the white wire the truck would die. I know for a fact that the fuel shut off wire did not do a damn thing to my truck. I cut the wire and it still started and ran.

The ecm kills the voltage to the pump when you turn the key off.

The only other wire that looks to me like would actually kill the pump voltage is the white wire.

i will have to play around with that to use for a kill switch one thing bad with a air shut off if turbo is at full song and closes that isnt good for it right?
