Ladder bar question

Just put a stock clutch back in it so it slips every time you nail it in 5th. ;)

I'd vote for the nv5600 swap. Very easy, and several folks have done it. It will be a heck of a lot cheaper than a new 4500 every few months..

THATS A PLAN

Do you think the NV5600 is that much stronger, or will i run into alot more cost trying to fix it.

Well, they where factory rated to hold about 20% more torque than the nv4500..

It may not be the end all be all answer, but it sure couldn't hurt anything at this point, especially since it is such an easy swap.

The BIGGEST issue I have with the nv5600 is that they are no longer produced.. So finding parts and service for them might be a little more difficult. I don't know what's all involved in a g56 swap, but I think that may be another option. I don't know if the G56 is rated to hold more than the 5600 or not though.

Have you considered um............gearing down?

Or put a bigger turbo on it to make the lag so bad it will have to be high enough it R's to save the tranny!

:hehe:

Preload on traction bars (not ladder bars) won't cause transmission carnage.

Dan, you mentioned the 5th gear nut upgrade - have you talked to Dan at quad4x4.com about it? He's a powertrain guru and has IMO the best solution for the NV4500's weak points.... been around for many years. :Cheer:

I got it out today, it broke both the fith gear nut and the big gear, also look like it damagedthe input shaft bearing. and Josh i got a bigger turbo goiing on this week.
