Gotta put something in the Ford. Nobody want to give me a CR, so here is what I have layin around:

2 5.9 short blocks
a o ringed 24V head
H2 cam
215 Ppump, stock
and the associated conversion parts
Dual Disk clutch
HX35
S471
2 stage cooling mist water system
4 GSK kit

Heres what I wanna do:

500 on fuel, set up just right for towing. Would prefer to keep it a single turbo job. Or SMALL twins.

I made 450hp uncorrected on Dunbars with some RV stix, silver bullet, 160 pump with 4gsk, 0 plate, laser cuts, helix 2, 24v, and @ 35psi.

Figured the same stix, just need to figure this out. Im thinking make it to where the water comes on on the hills. Truck has 3.73's I think, will have a ZF6 trans.

Tell me how YOU would build it.

:thankyou2:

Honestly....... I'd call jeff and say "Hey Man, I need 500 everyday trailer pull'n HP, what do I need?" and go from there. :hehe:

......but It'd be in a 3rd Gen. ;)

Brad Ponci's tow rig is what you are talking about. He is a crackup to follow coming home from a race. It runs clean, and tows his gooseneck and race truck up the hills like he just has a bag of groceries in the bed.

Sounds like my VP truck. Nothing special there though - Stock engine with a few goodies on it. It made 496 and 1100 ft lbs. I wore out a couple of hitches with that truck.

I would think that with a ppump, 500 hp amd wanting to tow with it I would go with twins... Not sure about that s471, but I have an HT60 that would work great with your 35 as a set of towing twins :D I'll send it with those wrist pins for a little extra ;)

LOL

I assume that s471 is a 71mm turbo? What pulling class would that be in according to the inducer? 2.8?

Well, Ive got a T6 1.10 housing for the 471. Its a 71mm btw. It was gonna be the 2.8 on the red truck, looks like its the primary for now.

I want small, quick lighting turbos. So the twins are a go.

Now we're on to pump mods, timing, and what else?

With the bad luck I had TS the one thing I did have was my Chit was great towing across country : ) Nothing to crazy just a dependable nice tow rig.

TS Performance Power Play MP-8 with MPD Monitor and HUD (Pressure Box)
Smarty Jr with POD (power on Demand) for timing and duration.
Quadzilla Boost Fooler
Formula 1 stage 1 nozzels
AirDog 100 with Hellman Sump
SBC Dual Disc
Silverline dual S/S Exhaust
AFE Progard 7 filter
Firestone Air Bags
Prodigy Brake controller

Soon to come
Custom E.D. 64/71 S300 Turbo

BBD

This is the horse power range I am shooting for. I was looking at a dual disc, adrin or edge comp, 35/40 over a S475 for turbos, and either 100 or 150 sticks, and Ppumping it would seal the deal but I am guess that I am stuck with POS vp.

24v with the p pumpn (full travel 100 plate, and 181 DV's will be good) and your cam, the 2 stage water would be a good idea too. Air Dog 150, 100 hp sticks, HX35 over an S468 with external gates for both, about 17.5 timing, maybe a bigger intercooler and intake horn. 500 hp should be well within limits of this setup.

35/40 hybrid with a 14cm and a gt4202 makes a great spooling tow set. I can still dyno well over 600 with a flip of the switch keep my egts very low during towing and run very clean out the pipe.

My old setup was over 500hp and towed well. Its in my sig. But if budget isnt a problem, i agree with an external wastegate.

Im gonna stick with the internal gate on the HX. And no gate on the 471. I want to keep whis as simple as possible. Probaly not do a 35/40, for the same reason.

On the 215 pump

181's
#6 plate
4gsk
17* on timing?

But I dont have a cr scott:poke:

LOL

Then maybe you should sell one of those extra HSG's you have on staff and buy you a CR, some Vaseline and a box of Kleenex. Trust me, it'll be cheaper in the long run and bring you far more happiness. Beat on Hearman till you go blind then get you an ugly HSG with no STD's... you'll have a nice truck and your Helen Keller ass won't know the difference. :hehe:

P Pump? Aw hell, you just need a dinner plate, some clock springs make the govenuh go jub-jub, set your watch to 19 after. Catch a mack truck that is making a delivery of valves to the local hardware, do a 180+1 and go to NAPA and get chew some big ole brake lines for the injectors. Come home put the dinner plate on the sander, grab a hammer, open the hood, smack the front valve cover, throw the whole mess in there and slam the hood HARD! Cost ya $.25 Ya pee pump run good den. :hehe:

Tell em Amish tuned it up right for ye. Back woods P Pump on duh truck, yo!

I luuuuuve them p pumps. :1tooth:

:hehe:

So, by Amish's reasoning. I do a 0 plate, 181's and 19* on the timing and build a barn somewhere in the middle.

Or I trade a girls for a CR and exercise my prostate till Im blind. End my days working on my truck like looking Ray Charles while marries to a lot lizzard and have an uncurable itch.

I like the ppump idea.
