Let's see your weight brackets.......again.

JP, How much does your truck weigh?

depends when.

With a full tank of fuel and nothing removed it's around 7400
(keep in mind I have a GN hitch, traction bars, weight bar, etc.)

I think I can get it down close to 7000 if I pull the spare tire, tailgate, and some other things.

still needs a little work and some paint.

do you guys have them made so that the weights lock on it or do you just strap them down so they dont move?

I always make them so that the weights get locked down, not just strapped down. Much safer for everyone.

Seems to me it would be better to hang the weights parrallel to the bumper so that the weight would be farther forward

Here is what we came up with. It will hinge up if need be. Weight's about 380#.

I hade some big steel discs in the shop that were collecting dust so thats what I ended up using. I mounted them parralel to the bumper so I could get as much weight as possible out to the 60" mark. Now I just need to make a lighter bumper so I can add some more plates out front.

Tom, get your butt back here. All your knowledge was key in producing Big Horny.

Im hanging 1200lbs, and i went with them being parralel to get as much of that weight out at the 60 inch mark.
