Well finally after getting everything done, big fuel an twins I blew a boot. I was doing a little messing around and spooling up for a burnout. Then pop some where around 50lbs. Before I go welding tabs on the charger pipes to keep them together I was curious what others were using and how there holding up.

BD Boots, well over 100 psi, only one ever popped off, and it was due to a loose clamp.

Are the boots busting or just popping off? I have some kickazz t-bolt clamps that will hold it if its just blowing off

I will look into both. Im gessing there more "sticky" and don't like to come apart as easily as stock? I should be in the neighborhood of 80 psi I belive. They are just poping off.

The old BD boots held less than stock boots, so I wouldn't even want to try the new boots that I assume you guys are having good luck with. What connection are you blowing? The engine could be torquing enough to where it is pulling the boots off the pipes a little, then blowing.

BBD performance makes their own boots and has a lifetime warranty on them. They ever break they will send a new one no questions asked. I havent heard of one breaking yet. Tested to 500 psi burst iirc.

Mr bobs would be my second choice. Heard too much bad with bd.

Can't forget the purple super hold hair spray either. Works wonders

hair spray and a roughed up surface have held over 90 psi on mine. I have seen bbd boots hold over 85 psi on a good set of twins. they are good guys over there too.

ran a PDR set on my old truck

Never had a problem with them, held 75 psi no problems at all, unfortunately they are out of business now? or am i wrong here... Anyways new 12v has a boost leak from typical right side area on the fender, so I am in the hunt for some as well..

BD has mixed reviews, using search function, and BBD, has a top notch warranty and better pricing than BD boots... plus i like to support my Tx Businesses so, it seems thats the way im gonna go...

far as the hairspray trick goes, worked wonders for me..

Stock boots with duct tape and wire on the outside, thoroughly cleaned on the inside with brake clean and double clamped has been the most reliable setup for me.

Some boots, like my 2.75" to 3" adapter are aftermarket so I had to blow up a few cheap ones till I found one that will hold up to 85-90 psi boost.

Blue,I slip the three inch pipe over the 2.75 outlet on the 351's and put a three inch connector over the rough part of the compressor outlet. You have to grind a bump or two off to do this but it's held great for me. This lets me keep one spare boot and clamp for all the connections but the intercooler ones. I just did this on the 341 after blowing the odd coupling out with a trailer 400 miles from home and having to limp it home ripped. Wasn't fun.

I've thought about getting an extra intercooler and cutting and welding three inch connectors on it also so everthing will be three inch. Don't really see any benefit to the odd size on the intercooler.

I have intercooler boots from intakehoses.com, they are much thicker and more stiff than the factory ones. I have only pushed low-mid 50's so far but it has been without issue.

No problems with my Peak boots.
Not major boost like some but they've been holding 60psi for a couple years now.

I use HPS boots, they are thicker but hold up good.
I use hair spray with them.
