Long bed to short bed conversion

I cut my 05 regular cab 2wd into a short box.
I took out 20" under door, I cut on the seam.
If you want to keep trailer hitch you will need
to cut out 2" in front of back tire on seam.
I cut 2" on rear of frame and went with a roll pan.
I cut straight down and made fish plates, 12"x6"x .375.
 
Ok thanks guys, I think I'm gonna cut it under the cab where the seem is. I got the bed off tonight and was looking at it and that seems like the only way of doing it. Thank you for all the help guys. I appreciate it and all the fast replies
 
I kept my hitch but I didn't want to weld the hitch end of the frame back on, made me feel uneasy so I renotched it like the factory did and swapped the spacer thats in the frame so I could re-use it.
 
Hey are you swapping your rear for a SRW? I have a SRW and am in need of a DRW axle so I dont have to run these spacers
 
Yea I've decided I'm just gonna keep it a long bed. I'm going in the morning to pick up a single rear wheel bed. Thanks everybody for the replies
