I'm not sure where to price this at, so I'm going to start at $1000 and go from there.

1997 12 Valve Long block - pumped all the oil into the cooling system. Not sure what's wrong, but having another engine built right now to replace it. Will be out this afternoon. No pump, exh, nada. Basically block , head, crank, rods/pistons, valve covers and oil pan. Front cover and cover plate included. Will be assembled unless you request it to be apart. No biggie.

PM me here for contact info

Andy

TTT $800 ? Front covers are going for $200 Rods $200, BLock $200, Crank$ 200 Free cylinder head and pistons! LOL

So you want $800 for a engine that ran out of oil? So its going to need more then likely rods and a crank depending if you ran it till it shut off.

No....didn't run until it quit. Ran unction it started missing. More than likely the head gasket, but none the less, are my prices out of line?

Engine went Kapluey!!! last night.....pumped all the oil into the cooling system in a matter of 20 miles. Engine pegged the temp gauge and stalled. Sounds really bad! Got towed home and it started enough to get in to the garage. Hopefully the machine shop can post haste on the engine I'm getting built. In the mean time, I guess I'll find out what was going on! Oil cooler or HG ? Any wagers?

You said it did!

You ever have one missing on two cylinders? Pushed the clutch in and it stalled. Ran and had oil pressure to get into garage. Wherever. Are you interested? Are my prices out of line? If yes please advise where I'm outta line, if you've nothing to ad other than bashing and complaining, please move along to the next thread. Thx

So you run the engine and it pumps the oil into the coolant and its missing on 2 cylinders? So what your saying is not only is the hg blown from cylinder to oil to water passage on 2 cylinders? I'm betting it was the oil cooler leaking and you ran the rods out of oil and now have a couple spun rods. It will still carry oil pressure so you know

So a leaking oil cooler will cause the eninge to miss on 2 cylinders? Again. I'm asking you, please tell me if my price is out of line? Otherwise go the &^%* away! Thank you for your public service on advising everyone else what they could be buying! IF they are looking to buy a core motor or whatever, I'm sure they are intelligent enough to know what may or may not have happened. Move along.

How do you know its missing on 2 cylinders? Did you run a compression check? Leak down? Oh and I my name is green so I won't gov away. Your core engine is worth $400 until you pull the pan to see what's messed up.

Okay. So you're offering $400 . When would you like to pick it up? I'm pretty flexible.

As per Disturbed's advice, I've started to disassemble the engine. Head looks good, no visible cracks. #4 piston is melted pretty good. Must've been a bad oil cooler ( good call ) because the head gasket looks good. Taking the bottom end apart tonight, but right now, it spins well, even will the galled piston. Will be guessing the bottom end crank and rods are ok. Will know for sure tonight.

Finished disassembly. Block fine - will probably need bored $200. Crank fine - $200 Brazil Rods - Fine - $200 , Front Housing $200 , Head - should probably have a valve job $150, 5 good pistons STD size - free with any purchase! LOL Valve covers, front cover, oil pan, tappet cover available, buy everything for $800 !

I'll measure tonight. Are you talking standard or oversized? Or are there different sizes?

I'll make this really simple, if the head of the bolt uses an 18mm socket to remove it, the bolt shank is 12mm.

Mark.

I could have sworn my 95' with 14mm mains also used an 18mm socket....

Mark you've obviously torn down tons of motors, so is my memory foggy?
