Looking at Clutches!

I emailed Southbend and Valair about their clutches. I am still unsure about which one I want. The Southbend suggestion was a SDD 3250 6SP. The Valair suggestion was a new dual disc available that uses a diaphragm pressure plate. I know enough about clutches to be dangerous but was wondering which one yall would suggest out of those two. The prices are very close so can't go by that. Let me know your opinion on this one. THanks for any info.

The SB 3250 also uses a diaphragm style pressure plate. I've had good luck with both of my SBC's, so thats what I would reccomend.

Have 2 south bends. One DD one single. Love them both. I wont be changing companies anytime soon!

Alright, finally got time to call about the clutches. Still can't really make my mind up on whh one i want. I do not thinkg the valair will happen now, because of certain reasons. But I am looking at the Southbend 3250 street comp 12 CB and the Haisley Machine HMR Street Drag clutch. My thing right now is which would be better to have 12 buttons or 6 buttons? Which one would be smoother shifting and the least grabby? I want something smooth and quick. But I do want Dual Disk,if it slows it down some that is fine, jut so long as it is not really slow. SO give me some advice/opinions on this one. thanks everyone!

I hear that Haisely's street clutch is the quickest shifting DD out. The 6 button clutch in my dually is smoother and shifts a little quicker than my 12 CB in my 3/4 ton, but the 12 button still isn't broken in yet, so its not a good comparison. The non SFI SBC clutch is quite a bit cheaper than Haisely's though.

x2 Id go Haisley, I love my SBC, but its slow shifting

I have the HMR Street Drag and love it. IMO it shifts easier than any other DD I have ever driven. I don't sled pull with it but drag race a lot and have towed heavy with it as well. With just a little added RPM it's very smooth.
