looking for a really small turbo

I've allways wanted to use a smog pump to supercharge a small engine, they are the same design as an early centrifical style paxton charger. No oil supply/drain to deal with, just need a way to run it. The only good use for a smog pump.

Buddy of mine did that on a go-kart in high school. I think he crashed it into the side of a truck before they ever found out if it was that much faster or not. Sure was loud.

Ive been wanting to do this to my atv. But i need something with bottom end to it cause its a mud bogger i dont race it

Thats about what you need. T3 will be too big, sounds like you need T25 or smaller, like the one from Ebay posted.

they dont need to make too much boost to make decent power out of a motorcycle or quad. too much and you will need race fuel and then have to worry about the bottom end.

if its going on a 2 stroke you might could use something bigger than you think, it will hit the turbo twice as often making it spool quicker. now just need to oil the turbo

How much boost can one of them little puppys hold.

Not sure, found someone that did a turbo shifter kart with it. The IHI on Ebay seems a good choice.

I didnt read before its going on a dirt bike. Check with MJM turbo, they build some really small buggers, Im sure they can find something for you.

ill get a charger and illl post details how a small engine does with a turbocharger.

i was going to do a draw through carb or run a small fuel pump and run a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator to keep a blow through carb full of fuel.

i MIGHT be interested in that T3. more than likely would be way too big but im only try for a few pounds of boost.

Garrett

What engine are you planning on using?

106cc. bored and stroked crf50 with ported race head. might go bigger if the sleeve will allow and go custom lower comp wiseco if i can get one.

Garrett

Unless you can find an off the shelf part from Wiseco that will work, they have a minimum order of like 10 pieces for anything custom.

I'll be watching this thread....Ive been searching for a turbo for the dads sled to replace the shot aerodine. (2k to replace?!?!)

gt2871 for an sled 600-800cc after that you look at a gt30 series. I have turbed alot of sleds and a 2871 is the best all around turbo.

I have thought about a turbo pit bike a few years ago when they were big could never find a turbo small enough so I just ended up with a little laughing gas. It worked really well.

Bad idea.... When boost comes on its like smacking the top of the piston with a hammer. We melt at least 1 set of pistons a year on my dads turboed sled. Even ceramic coatings, new plugs, lower compression, and a ton of tuning (carborated) doesn't keep it from melting the crap out of things. You are either full throttle to keep air moving through it or puttering around. No in between.

2 stroke gas engines don't like turbo's longevity wise. when they run they freaking get out of town!

We had a self contained oiled turbo called an aerodine. Expensive little bugger

For 2-stroke somebody really needs to develop direct injected engines like have been used with outboard boats for years.
