Loose steering options

phffff.... jack up your front end, get a crow bar and lift your tires with it.... if your ball joints move at all, replace them

The shop didn't have time to check it today, told me to come back Wednesday. I'll have to check them with a pry bar in the meantime.

shops are a waste of time for diagnosing stuff... unless there your friend that you've known for years.

if you're too lazy to fix it yourself they have a place, but other then that it's like taking money and burning it

Well I know the guy and he'll tell me honestly if they're bad or not when they allign it

Well turns out the ball joints aren't horrible but there is slight play in them. So I got my new tires mounted, steering wheel straightened out and inspection done. Truck drives SOOOOO much better but I still think I'm gonna get a steering brace.

mine had about 1/8" of play or less.... when i pulled them out the uppers were completly ****ed and the lowers could damn near be pulled out of the sockets by hand

"slight" play means take off your knuckles and inspect them for yourself

factory dodge tolerence on them before replacement is a joke

I'm still going to replace them this week hopefully.....should I do wheel bearings while I'm right there? Guy at work seems to think so but they are expensive and there is nothing going on that says they are bad.

might as well replace them, you've replaced everything else
