Spoke to Eric today (THANKS ERIC!!!) and phone diagnosis lead him to believe it's a head gasket...
No visible white smoke on startup no coolant smell from exhaust...it's at the dealer...there gonna leave it pressurized over night and start pulling glow plugs to look for any coolant signs...only problem shop foreman said it may only leak when hot(?)...I know the early 01's (mines an early one as well)had a few head gasket problems...were they on a particular bank or cylinder?
any ideas where/what I can have him check before I authorize a tear down at my expense?
also...any upgraded gasket kits available...
