Losing power

Hey guys my buddy has an 02 with an auto in it, he has been having trouble with it losing power when he first starts it. He will be going down the road and it just loses everything he can hold it to the floor and after awhile it will come out of it, or if he turns it off and back on it is fine. It is the worst when the motor is cold. Is they anything to check before taking it anywhere to get it looked at? Thanks guys

It just started doing it when the weather started warming up.

Mine will do this same thing on and off at random times. I'm blaming the ECM. But who knows. These VP trucks have a mind of their own.

Fuel pressure?

It has a new lift pump but not sure what pressure is

I would say no on the fuel pressure. My ECM cuts power to the airdog occasionally and I loose pressure but no change in overall throttle response or power.

Sounds like a VP going bad to me
