losing prime after lift pump install

Over the winter I decided to build a fuel system after my airdog started giving me issues. I put a magnafuel quickstar 275 pump with a built in regulator and a cat filter assembly in place of the airdog , using the existing airdog lines. Now the issue I'm having is after the truck sits for any longer than an hour or 2, I'm losing all my prime and have to crack lines to get it to fire. I was wondering if a check valve in the line before the vp44 would solve this or is there another issue. Any input would be appreciated, info on truck is in my signature, thanks

Im using a summit check right after my second filter to avoid this.
