Is the Mag-Hytec cover for the front Dana 60 a good idea or is it more of a solution in search of a problem? I'm coming up on my next service interval and if the MH cover is worth the (considerable) expense, now would be the most convenient time to get it.

granted I have a 6.0, I have all 3 of their pans. they are really nice!! they have a input for diff fluid temp, a dipstick w/magnet on the end (its a pretty powerful magnet at that) and has a o-ring on the mating surface so no more gaskets or rtv!! I would deff. buy them again! you wont go wrong

Actually I took a second look at Dynatrac's site and just ordered one of their D60 covers. It's not quite as snazzy looking as the MagHytec version but it's stupid-strong, looks good, and should be very well made if the quality of my hub conversion kit was any indicator.
