All right i have the stock tank set up, now i bouht a in bed 75 gallon diesel tank. i want to be able to select from running on the stock tank to the in bed tank with the flip of a switch. i am getting an ad150 pump set up so that will be the pump. now i need to run a splitter of some kind on the suction side of the pump and have one line go to the stock pickup and the other going to the in bed tank pickup. My question is how or what kind of valves will i need to get to make this work? also the ad doesnt send the return fuel to the tank it recycles it right there at the pump so i wont have to worry about the return fuel going to the wrong tank. ANy ideas or anyone want to share there split tank setup with me?

I realize some of you might be thinking to yourselves ahhh this guy is trying to run the red stuff. But no i am not the big tank is going to be for BIo or wvo and ill keep the stock tank #2.

My only advise is you better hide the plumbing good...the DOT ain't-a-gonna like that. :D $.02

I thought about his several times...but with the stock return line and the FASS return line....the plumbing is too much to be pursued. At the rate they are screwing us on prices....burn the red if you want.....just don't get caught. :D

if i were gonna burn red, i would run it in the stock tank, i would then put a bed cover on the bed and make it look like a gas burner. even put magnum v8 stickers on it. that way on the freeway they wouldnt stop me for a dip. On a side note, the only time ive ever seen dot stop anyone for a fuel check was if the truck looks commercial like a hotshot truck or loaded heavy always pullin trailers. I never see or hear of anyone in a truck just using it as a ride or hwy cruiser getting stopped, dipped or any other. The only reason i wouldnt run red is cause its only like 2 cents cheaper here. Whats the point...

Here red is .30 cheaper. I run it on a regualr basis. Just add a few gallons of WMO and no wil can tell what's in the tank. I have a 37 gallon tank under my toolbox for the long trips. Saves. Lot of time when you don't have to refuel every 500 miles.

i would but then i wouldnt be able to keep the two tanks seperate. I am doing this for a wvo tank and would like to keep the two tanks seperate so i can start and shutdown on #2 then switch over to wvo, bio, or svo whatever is in the tank at the time once im up and runnin.

Use the dual tank switch for chevies from the early 90's and older. It is set up for return lines to the correct tank and is electronic so you can do it with a flick of a switch. You can find them at a real auto parts store like carquest or napa. The dot wont mess with you unless there commercial since they are commercial enforcement.

The 90s ford have the switch also. Not sure how it works but I had a truck with dual tanks years ago.

Thats just as illegal and immoral as running red except it also damages the engine.

You have actual data to back that up or just being negitive?

And as far as running red is concerned sure it's against the law but so is rolling through a stop sign or going 35 in a 30 mph zone.
The government/DOT wastes more money than all of us on this board combined make.
Burn red? Absolutely!
They get enough of my money already.

so by me burning used oil(keepin it out of the dumps and landfills) im imoral? your so full of **** i can see it ooze even through the computor. As far as hurting my engine goes i filter it, boil the water content out of it then filter it again. I have never once hurt my motor or even pluged a fuel filter yet. I pulled my stock injectors to replace with sdx injectors and they had been run on the wvo for over 50 thousand miles. they looked new. no carbon buildup no hotspots all holes were clear. Id say it is not hurting my engine whatsoever or my consience.

Personally burning WVO is just fine with me. Now the long arm of the law may see it differently, because they are not collecting road tax, and it is not a EPA approved fuel.

Mo smoke i wont have the cash for a while. I am having to put a little money aside for christmas presents. If you still have the stuff when i have the money i will hit you up. Thank you

Have you done ANY research on VO?

The answer is simple, don't do it!

The government/DOT wastes more money than all of us on this board combined make.
Ah, so that makes breaking the law and stealing perfectly okay!
Cool, so I can come take your truck out of your driveway. You steal from my taxes so by your logic that makes it okay for me to steal from you.

They get enough of my money already.
If you don't like it you've got 3 choices.
1: Vote for somebody that will do a better job.
2: Get over it.
3: Move to a country that has the laws the way you like.

Stealing is not an option.

so by me burning used oil(keepin it out of the dumps and landfills) im imoral?
Yes! If recycled properly it will be burned in furnaces, designed to handle used oil , to make electricity. It can also be re-refined and reused as other oil products.
Oil does not go into dumps or landfills, thats just outright ignorant.

As far as hurting my engine goes i filter it,boil the water content out of it then filter it again.
Do you use a centrifuge to remove all the sub-2micron wear metals? How do you remove the soot? How do you separate the addatives that makes up 30% of engine oil? How do you compensate for the additives designed to prevent the oil from burning in the cylinder?

Now the long arm of the law may see it differently, because they are not collecting road tax, and it is not a EPA approved fuel.
Nor is it DOT approved.
You're also stealing from fellow citizens, not just the govn't. By not paying taxes you're not helping to maintain the roads you use. Its no different than driving on a turnpike after driving around the toll booth.

Friend had a setup, he used two fuel pumps. The issue with the setups you buy for the factory tanks is they switch right away on the return. You need the return to switch at a different time, to keep the WVO out of the diesel tank.
When he would switch back to diesel, he would switch the supply first and pump some diesel in the WVO tank, then switch the return later.

You could just get a Dual tank Switch from say an OBS Ford and Use it to switch between Stock and In Bed Tank. I have seen it done a few times and it seems to work well
