anyone else besides me notice that max boost in gears lower then 5th isn't near where you can put the gauge in 5th and 6th?

curious if this is a result of REVGAIN? or the fact that I don't normally get around shifting till 3500, where the smarty tends to defuel.

Don't have time to watch the gauge lol. Usually when I am at WOT in 3rd and 4th I am hanging on and watching the road. :D May have to get someone to ride shotgun and have them check it out.

Yep, I've noticed this. I guess it's because of revgain. Although, 4th gear can get the boost up high, but rpms are high when it gets there.

It sucks for racing from a stop, that's for sure:bang. But hey, I just tell myself it's a diesel truck and they're made for pulling trailers, not for racing:hehe::what:.

normally, I'm in that boat, but when there's NO ONE on the road, I try to catch a glance.

what kinda timing are you running on the tnt/r? I suppose I'm interesting your difference in boost between 1-4 vs 5-6.

yeah, there's always load, just wondering if the gearing is officially working against me now with more potential power. All these upgrades to have the same 1/8 performance, but maybe say, pick up 35mph on the back half. last year I picked up on average 24mph on the back half.

hook to a trailer and put it to the floor in 2nd 3rd and 4th and i bet you see your normal max boost that is all it is there is not enuff load in the lower gears to get the boost up and i dont know if 1/4 times would improve if maybe you had a taller rear gear like 3.42??? instead of 3.73 or 4.10

Yep. Load. In the lower gears the gearing plus extra power is getting the rpms to fast for the boost to build fully. You should see back-half gains for sure.

hmmmm load. I suppose. maybe shift earlier too. New lower gears would be nice. I have 3.73's 3.42's would be nice.

well see. that's going to be a big expense. something I can't do my self for sure. the front end along is going to take for ever to get the hubs off and what not.

taking the hubs off is easy i have broke the driver side u joint twice and the bearings went out once i can get one off in about 15 min now

Drive your truck up a steep grade in lower gear if you want to see if load is the factor. FYI, if you go too steep, you'll need 4x4 to prevent spinning so look for a good 6-10% grade and hit it hard in 4rd gear around 1500 rpm to get max boost before max RPM.

I have also played around with riding my brakes a little to see if I could make more boost. It's a lot easier to chart max boost with the Adrenaline's data logger. I can hit 45 psi in 3rd, 48psi in 4th, and 51psi in 5th. If I ride the brakes in 3rd, I can hit 51psi.

I could only hit like 45 psi in 4th with 4.10s
But could easily peg my 60 psi gauge in 5th. Not sure on the final number in 5th since i was afraid to lay into it too long with a stock head.
