Talked to a guy tonight with a p-pumped first gen, hx-40, 370 marine injectors, bigger injection lines, 4k gov springs and a Antrim diesel built pump. He said he has at least 650 hp and I said I doubt he has over 550, but I'm not a 12 valve expert. He's dynoing at a upcoming local dyno day and I said if he breaks 650 ill pay for it. I'm good right?

I bet at or under 400 with that setup, but torque will be amazing...

I had serious doubts about breaking 500 but I didn't want to hurt his feelings too bad because he seemed like a cool guy so I started agreeing lol. He said he's gonna be heartbroken and highly disappointed if it isn't over 650 and if its not he's gonna go back to antrim diesel and say I want more..... It did seem real torquey because from a 3rd gear roll it would get the jump on my brothers nasty 24 valve!

I did 456 on shizzy injectors (DDP3) and the same mods. I have the super 40 though. maybe more timing. Im going for a nice clean 500 with the freshened injectors from weston and a camshaft.

I'm thinking he did say super 40..... Either way he's waaaaay off on his hp guess.

He may have a shot at450 ish, if its tubed real good..for the combo.... But I doubt it is.i will paypal u20 bucks if he breaks 400..what kind of dyno is he gonna run on?

I think he will break 400... I did 396 on a stock turbo less timing and same injectors. not as much tuning though

Not sure on the dyno, I will check and let ya know. Antrim diesel tuned it and the guy who tuned it has a 12 valve in the 10s (phillip is his name, he's a member on here) so he knows his way around a p-pump. Antrim diesel will be dynoing it on may 7th at thier dyno day so we will see!

How built is the pump? Was the AFC tuned as well?

Do you get anything if he loses? Does he pay for your dyno run?

I did 450 almost 10yrs ago with an HX40 and 370's in my old 97...

He'll be lucky to crest 500... you've got no worries about 650! LOL

I'm gonna say pretty good but I'm not sure, again, not sure, he was a little clueless. No, and no. I wasn't too hard on him because he was with a bunch of his buddies and he didn't do the mods himself, it was all done by Antrim. I did have to laugh when I asked what all was done to his truck. He said, "about everything you can do, it has around 650 hp." I asked him what turbos he was running and he said a hx-40. Lol!

Is this antrim place reputable? It sounds like they might have overtalked him a little bit. Unless he's making the numbers up.

The customer service SUCKS but they have some FAST 12 valves so Idk. Sounded to me like they overtalked him.

Antrim is known for talking big, and charging big $$$.

True dat! I will never buy anything from them again, you go in there and its 15-20 minutes before someone comes to the parts counter. Then its another 10-20 till you get your parts. Pissed me off so bad the last couple times I was there..... If you're friends with the guys that work thier its all good though, you just walk into the back of the shop and they'll hook you right up.

I generally don't like going to shops. They are always overpriced and seem to not know as much as they should. Of course if you live around places like sheids or browns or something, it's a different story.

So when is this dyno day again?

May 7. Don't get me wrong, they do know how to build serious horsepower ppump trucks so I'm.not sure why they told this guy he would have 650 hp. They also know how to blow up commonrails, they told a local guy to run his mp8 on the highest setting so his stock cp3 would keep up with his 150 hp injectors, ended up costing the guy some serious money to get everything repaired.....

I think it's possible to see a corrected 525 HP spike with an HX40/370 set up.
