May 3rd, 2008 Vegas Diesel Nationals #2

We will be back too. I say we stay at the place Haz-mat was at next year though it was alot closer.

Chuck

Chuck, the Cannery casino/hotel is on the same road just on the other side of 15, it was like 6 miles from the track! I'm working on getting them to be party central for next year.

We will be there and wrapping up the event in one day is an awesome idea:clap:

Will be back for round 2 forsure:cheer: , we both had a blast. It was nice staying 2 miles from the track, but it would have been better to have stayed with everyone else:Cheer: . Either way we will be there. Phil if you come out the cooler will be waiting, even though you have a contract worked out:rules: .

Good news !!!

Eric, I'll be back next year, hopefully with a stronger output shaft? It would be great if Joe Donnely could incorporate May Madness next year and bring it back to Las Vegas. It would dovetail, the sled pulling, dyno events, vendor booths, and crowds to one venue.

Like my wonderful bride said, the truck will be there but with Craig as the pilot,

Tom, Sara could run it, after the powder puff pulls she will have the exsperience :)

Yeah I haven't mentioned me driving it, I would love it, just need some seat time first. We shall see.

That sounds good to me.

Why isn't it two days, if it is one day, that would discourage people from going, because why drive all that way for one day.

Well turn out was a little lower than exspected. But it was the 1st for an event like this. My wife counted 6 to 7 diesels between stop lights there should have been alot bigger turn out. So I think knocking it to one day will help this get to what INDY is now. It was a great time and everyone that was there Im sure are telling their friends now.

Chuck

For the 1st Vegas event, it wasn't a bad turnout. Word has to spread, and there is a year for that to happen so I see it being quiet a bit bigger showing next year. I'm making an attempt to round up people here around Tucson. I can't wait until next year!!!! :woohoo:

I agree, one day wouldn't be a good idea. Next year will have a much larger turn out I am sure. I too thought there would be more people but this sport of diesel racing and sled pulling is taking it's time out here on the west coast but it will soon catch up to the popularity of the mid-west.
I say definately a 2 day event cuz there is no way we could get all the qualifiying AND finals for drag racing AND sled pulling in one day......unless the event started @ 9am sharp when the track opens and by 1 or 2pm the finals would start giving participants enough time for changes and finals set-up. JMHO.:rockwoot:

I almost missed the sled pulls:( OH wait that was my fault for hot lapping Casper while Pat was getting the trailer tire repaired :woohoo:

I'm sure we will be there. I just didn't like the drive back and forth to Mesquite. LOOONG Boring drive. Probably find a place much closer.

Hopefully we will be able to came agian next year. It was a spur of the moment deal this year for us but next year we will be able to plan for it alittle better! Was a blast for sure!

Our shop is 3 miles south of there, and we use the Cannery for most of us when visiting. We get a 59.00 deal unless it is a big event weekend. Would be worth a shot.

We'll make a few tweaks, and see if we can better our 12.84 ET and go into quick diesel.

We already have a spot reserved so I'll be there and I think the owner of the Orange bronco w/4Bt is putting together a nice little Willy surprise. Hope it will be ready in time...

has it been determined if it is still only gonna be one day or if it has been upped to 2 days?
