Have you checked the wastegate pucks to see if they are sealing properly? There is a thread going on here about how the 13 &16 SS housings are having some MAJOR problems.

dont forget a stuck open waste gate, just because its a new turbo dosent mean it cant have a bad waste gate. or a cracked exhaust manifold. it sounds like its either air not coming in or air poorly comeing out.....

I was going to say the same thing.

Thanks for all the input. He got online today and read all the replies and will give me the updates on all the questions yall asked. Been a big help yall. keep it commin.

The truck at 15% Throttle pos is around 14k rail pressure and increases with the go pedal up to 22k +. I have done a complete pressure check across the charge air system, held 35 psi for 2 hrs. The truck makes 40 psi without a prob and under normal driving conditions it is making 5 to 15 under lite load. The Injectors are DDPs Complete with 90HP nozzles. There is no fuel in the oil! Thats what the truck came to the shop for! The head was machined .004, HG and Studs were installed. There are 0 exhaust leaks, the valves have been set twice, both times they have been dead on. When the truck came in and we decided what parts we were going back with, I told the customer what else was needed ( Trans and Turbo ). He wasnt willing to spend the money at the moment. Once the truck was running u could tell there was not enough CFM with the stock charger. This truck smokes at 55 MPH in the stock file at lite throttle pos! The Trans flares hard with the smarty on all levels.

Try pinching off the hose going to the wastegate if that fixes your problem then its your gate...

Is the truck a maybe an 04' instead of a 04.5? Wrong injector spray pattern. Wrong injectors could have been installed. Change the map sensor.

This is the same basic set-up I have and it pulls pretty hard at track and makes good numbers 650hp + 12.6 at track. But I do have a full built tranny.

Logan call me if you want.

You guys need to read before you post, they said it held 35lbs of pressure for 2 hours, and it makes 40psi of boost.. then you tell him to pressure test it and its might be the wast gate....

40psi = no problem with wastgate
Held 35 psi for 2 hours = no bost leaks

didnt the different year injectors have different size compression washer? I will call lenny 2mrrw and make sure that the nozzels are correct! I am going to push for a trans asap. the map reads perfect through my scanner and it does not fault a any kind of codes. i have the new pegysis and it does a scan across sensors and tells if they are even getting close to out side the correct values.

Thanks for all of yalls input! I will be sure to post the results when I get it nailed down!

that is not completly true with that much fuel you could still hit 40 psi and have a bad waste gate.

I made 75psi with a bad wastegate. Spool was a little slow though... :hehe:

Seriously, the way the shaft for the pucks have been warping, I would for sure check it out. Pull the cover plate and visually check it. Thats the only way to be sure.

The gate is working fine. The origanal poster of this thread said the truck was an 04.5, this info is incorrect and just now noticed his post. The trucks build date is 10/03.
