Alright I'm needin some opinions on this one guys. I'm either p-pumping this thing or looking into a monster setup. P-pump would be a 215 pump with 4k, dv's, mack plug, and whatever else. Not sure about having it flowed on a bench or not. Monster setup is pump, injectors, and tubes. I'll be running the tubes anyway for my CR head. I drag race and sled pull as well as daily drive, although I am keeping an eye out for another truck. Mike says I should be upwards of 750 and running 11.3-11.4's no problem with my 62/71/13 s480 combo that I will be running. Just am hesitant of buying another modded vp, as I have gone through two hrvp's. I am leaning towards the conversion for 1) reliability 2) RPM's 3) Fueling capabilites. I have heard that my little 215 pump will not be able to get me much past 650 though with 12mm barrels in it though, which sounded like BS to me, or is it? Give me some feedback if your runnning monsters or p-pumps, or just throw out your opinion I'm all ears!

Monster has my vote. Everyone throws a inline on it. I say stick with the vp and be different thats how i feel. Theres good things in the works with these pumps were finally making some good headway with them.

If I was to go with a VP, I'd stay away from the Monster... very it or miss on if it will work as advertised. II new Dragonfire seems pretty stout though. Ask Kman9090 about his.

Personally I would p-pump it... your 215 can make more power than any VP can.

yea do a monster and be different!!...............Um No!
Ppump it dude!!! Fulmer did over 800+ with a 12mm pump and 50/50Ram claims over a 1000 on fuel with a 12mm, built right even a 160 pump is good for 600+

been hearing that for years, waited for years, never saw a damn thing and still haven't, wish I hadn't waited as long as I did for a P-pump.

and while I don't have a dyno sheet for my p-pump conversion yet, it pulls much harder than my vp did with the plate 3/4 to the rear, and my VP was 650+HP

Thats definately what I'm leaning toward, although mike did talk to me for awhile about his pump and he sounds very confident, so that is somewhat assuring. BUT, its still a vp. Oh and the setup will be p&p CR head, diesel pros cam ( So tmoney pm me with your number), hamilton springs, mach 6+'s or 7's setup for p-pump ( I run the 6+'s now), small water kit, and 215 pump with the usual mods, and a fluidamper. I run a walbro fuel boss right now but will be switching to a raptor 150 since thefuel boss won't fit with thew dampner.

p-pump it and be done with it. if you get a monster pump your probably going to join the thread who got bent over the barrel by monster pump mike, and after reading it you DON'T want to be a part of that thread. now there are some very strong running trucks out there with monster pumps, but most of them after a long fight. with a p-pump, you have whatever pump your going to use sent out to ponci's diesel or columbus diesel, and have it bench flowed and set to however many cc's you need and have a 5k springs put in it and be done with the thing. personally thats why i just bought a 12v over a 24v. even though i've had more problems with my 12v then i would have had if i went with a sweet 98.5 24v with 203k i was looking at, but none were engine related. they were things like the rear diff needing to be rebuilt, and the transfer case leaking from everywhere, and the transmission and front end. but i would just p-pump it and have fun with it.

With turbos as big as your running how does yours drive on the street? I know its a drag truck but could you cruise it around with reasonable manners?

Yeas I could you'd have to play with overdrive it can be done and have done it I no the inlines are reliable but these vps continually get better and today put down a personal best at the nhrda event 11.00 they can make some good power man I no people think I'm crazy for sayin be different but just how I feel I promise 10.9's are in store for the end of the year with more then one truck fuel only and that's pretty respectable no matter ppump cp3 or vp

Very true, anything in the tens is strong. I like the idea of having to just put on another vp and swap injectors and be running low 11's in a street truck, but the fact that its another vp is what scares me.

Im not having any problems with my Monster, But the choice is yours and yours alone. I would think that the ability to turn a VP down would be beneficial over a P-pump on the street. I only sled pull with my VP truck and dont drive it anymore, but I could.

i agree with junkie about tuneability as well. Half of the people who say monsters are junk or dont buy it there hit or miss have no experience with the pump and none dealing with Mike. In the start of things yeas the pumps had some tweaks and flaws but he figured them out and fixed it now they are running awesome. Again its just one mans op. p pumps are good make huge power and reliable. and in defense to the monster pump all the guys making the most power running the best times like Karl isnt the fellah from Left Coast Diesel now running one and put down an insane number. Steve B all these guys are at the head of the pack. its up to you brotha.

Monster pump...

the bend over the barrel comment wasn't thought out... in the end Steve put down some awesome numbers with the pump and last I knew was VERY happy with the pump:poke:

I dont see why people say u cant tune a p-pump back down. pull the fuel plate back to the rearor put the stock plate back in, tune ur afc, and fuel screw and be done with it. Ive done it plenty of times

judus thats a bit of work! I just press a button... instant detune:lolly:

If you decide to go vp, I would stay with SO pump. I know a guy who is on his 4th Monster Pump after the first 3 failed [within 300 miles]. He just got his truck back from Enterprise last week & $16k later is still afraid of "when" its going to fail. I've pulled against Monsters & Dragons, haven't lost to one yet.

I'm currently running the so. Has yet to leave me stranded. Mike sounds very, very confident in his pumps, and I would really like to try one and make some serious power, but its that little "what if" in the back of my mind. Like what if it doesn't run any harder? What if it just dies? Not to say a p-pump is not gonna require some tuning, but at least I KNOW the fuel and reliabilty issues are not present. Adjustability of my vp is knda nice though. IC-SMOKE have you ever dynoed or ran the 1/4 in your truck?

Jamie not saying anything about your truck, but beating a Dragon or monster is not that hard if there not set up, you get a truck thats set up like mine or somebody else's and i think there will be a totally different out come. I have beat 13mm ppumps that are capable of 1000cc's doesnt mean the pump is junk, just means its not set up properly.
