mounting a 4 or 8D battery in bed

I have access to almost new cat 4 and 8D batteries, I want to mount one in the bed of my 99 dually. Is this a bad idea? Will the alt put out enough juice to charge everything? Any insight would be great

the alt should be able to keep it charged. not sure why you need a 4D or 8D battery but it should work fine. will for sure add some weight and take up some space, especially the 8D.

During the winter I use a pair of 8's in the bed with 2/0 cable. grids can run for a while and it fires up fine at -30*
