MPG?

With a 6 spd and HX40 I was about 18-19 on the hwy, 16ish city.

16-17is if i can keep my foot out of it in mostly stop and go dfw trafic. not entirely sure on open freeway yet. guess i need to take a trip to find out.

i got 11.75 pulling around 10-12k through small towns with stop and go and i get around 14ish when i floor it everywhere. like literally everywhere.

mine only got 14.5 what the hell i thought i was doing great now to get 18 city and 20 highway what gears do yall have mines 4.10 with a 285 tire

02 4x4 HO.

19 MPG Interstate w/ new MT tires over 1000 plus miles.
15 low, 22-24 if pampered right.

Electric fans and Mileage Max helped.

My 98 was like a woman. Some days it did really good, some days awful.
I drove it around for a few years with a bad Vp44. Winters really did the worst on mileage I saw 14 and it was a 2wd. I've seen 30 when pampered it to death in the summer, but many find that hard to believe.

I've never seen 15mpg, even when it was stock. 3.55 gears, now modded I get 10-12.

I have seen as high as 26mpg driving back and forth to college but that is a 400 mile trip so just cruising the whole time. This is doing between 70 and 75 at 2K rpms less of course if I have to back off.:rules:

As far as mixed driving when home I get 18-20 with a 40/60 mix of city and highway.

By the way I have 3.55 gears(as far as I know) and 35 inch tires.

I get 20 in town and 23-24 on the highway if I drive right. I notice it also depends on what brand of fuel I run though? I cant explain it but sure seems to make a difference.

I'm only getting 13mpg. Is there a problem somewhere

Is this empty mpg or loaded? What gears? If this is empty mpg you may want to try something as simple as resetting valve lash. I have came across a couple friends plus my 02 24v that drop 3-4 mpg quickly. I set the valves and that fixed those trucks.

I average empty around 17.5 with both my 12v and 24v with a 40/60 mix of city/hwy. Both trucks are 3.55 gears, one a auto (very loose) and the 24v a 6 speed.

did you baby it to death to get 17.1 stock mine only got 14.5 til i mod mine it sucked. with the mods i get about 18 to 20

Nope. Set the cruise at 70mph and let er go. It was a gutless wonder so there wasn't much babying it. It stayed stock all of one week. Then I got tired of it.

Empty and i'm running 3.55 gears

One thing to think about it that if you are running bigger tires and your computer wasn't reset it will give you a low reading. I read somewhere that between a 255 and a 275 or 285 (forgot) tire it was like a 7.5% difference. I know with my truck it is off. I was getting about 12 mpg empty when not to long ago I was getting 16mpg. That explained it for me. When I am driving 65mph I was really going 70mph. Hope that helpes and those out there that are smarter then me can explain things better.

i have 3.55 gears and some 285/75/16 tires and 4x4 with 5 speed.
and i calculate my mileage by what the dash says for miles, which is off slightly cause of the larger tires. which may make +.5 mpg difference. I usually keep my speedo between 65-70.

if your vp is bad or going out mileage can and will suffer.
