My brother is looking for some moderate gains on his LB7

My bro has an 01 DMax and it running a hypermax chip now. To me it seems slow as molasis. He was talking about doing some moderate upgrades like intake, exhaust and a little bit hotter chip. What would you guys recomend for him? I told him I believed the EFIlive and PPE are pretty good from what I have heard. I mentioned he would probably be looking at having to upgrade the trans as well.

Hold off on the chip and do the Tranny first!!!!!!!!!!

Tranny will be a good Idea, but go get him a PPE Downloader for his Birthday.

Yeah Im trying to talk him into doing the tranny. He has 170K on the ticker. Runs great and shifts fine. Hes not as much of a power guy as I am or I would being building the trans on it. He road in my 6.0L and now he has the itch to make some power.

It may shift fine now, but the first time he throws some real power to it the tranny will give up.

The PPE or EFI Live is a great option. If he is just wanting moderate gains then the PPE programmer is a great programmer. Give one of our vendors here make sure you mention that you saw there ad on CompD!
