My Diesel Pro's Cam is in!

Not a dumb question, but I'll give you a dumb answer, no it's not a bolt on gear. I had planned on getting a retainer from Haisley before I put the cam in, but due to the circumstances I had to throw it in without it. Ordering the retainer is definately on the to-do list for the winter, I'm wondering if I can get away with installing it in the truck

Do yourself a favor and order it and install it NOW! I only put maybe 3k miles on my aftermarket cam and the gear walked on it, which caused piston to valve contact which resulted in a dropped valve.

My killer B from Fletcher with bolt on will be here soon to.:rockwoot: Great guy to talk to and full of knowledge.

Sounds like it was a good mod, have been thinking about adding one of Fletchers cam to my CR while it is parked for the winter.Just need to find some more info on them.

I would highly recomend Fletchers cam, All the guys gave me crap about doing one and after I got all my tuning bugs worked out it is crazy how fast I can spool. With a bullet and very tight converter i can make 50spi in first gear b4 it shifts. The cams are easy and could be done in half a day if you have half a clue.

Thanks, that's exactly the turbo and converter set-up I have. I have enough patience to drive it smokeless but wouldn't mind the aided spool up to make it more fun to drive.

I pulled the 64 off out of boredom, never happy unless I'm tinkering.

Man I hear that! This post has definitely sparked my interest! I love the way this 62/68 is spooling but I'm like a fat kid with cookies, always wanting more spool, more power.......

I wish around 900, but I'm out of air. It still smokes like a freight train on the topend...there's still plenty of fuel left for nitrous:evil

Erik's liking his cam, I think he picked up around 2mpg.

How's your truck doing, I'm guessing you made it home ok? It's sounding like were gonna hit up the test n tune in Sac on saturday if your gonna be around.

Did you make it to Sac on saturday?

I did the smart thing for once and stayed home. My backs not in any kind of shape to be fixing the truck if I would have broke it. Between the two days of work on my truck last weekend and two sessions of traction last week my back is toast.

I forgot all about your back trouble. Glad to hear you sat this one out. If Chad was a good brother, he would have offered to make a few runs for you.;-)
