My project truck buildup, '96 auto to NV5600 and frame off resto!

i read the whole thing. Looks Awesome, keep up the good work!!!!!!!

Lol I know that's alot to read, thanks man! Oh yea, I forgot about all the banning.... haha.

Should be a good looking truck when you get it done. Nice helper too:hehe:

You had to throw a link up to retard land? that's why nobody is responding.

Um, sorry? Can I not post a link to my build? I kinda don't wana have to re-type 10 pages worth of updates when I can just post a link, that's the purpose of a link, right?

You could have easily copied and pasted it....

Good luck with the build

Thanks man! I'm going with a black and blue two tone.... Separated by a silver stripe. Still undecided on what I wana do with the stripe, I'm just gonna lay down whatever image is in my head at the time of masking up the stripe. Haha.

I'm sure you have a very nice truck, but if we aren't worth coping & pasting to this site I wouldn't expect others to follow your link to that site. I'm not banned from there, but I do hate wading through the adds.

Again good luck on the build.

Wow for real? Did I say this site wasn't worth copying and pasting? How bout some people chill out about it? I actually love this site... I pick it over all the others. Didn't know linking a damn web page would be such a problem?
ANYWAYS, back to the build.

Okay, well I started porting the head last night. Got 6 and them 5 done with no problems. When I got to number 4, I noticed my carbide bit wasn't cuttin so well..... Pulled it out, and it was all gummed up with sludgy oil. I shined my light in the exhaust port, and there's a layer of it in the whole exhaust bowl... cylinders 1 and 2 are the same way. My motor has 176k on it. Y'all think it could already need valve guides ? It had somewhat of a blue haze when you'd start it up and for a couple of minutes of idling.

Looks good man keep up the good work and give your helper pat on the back or where ever you want lol. I got a helper too that helps me out and it is nice.

Cool build it will be a great truck when its done.:ylsuper: As far as the bed goes that's a tuff call .
I am working on an 89 reg cab and am considering cutting the frame and using a stepside bed or possibly scrapping the whole body and putting something like a 48 Diamond T on it. Rich

Thanks man, sounds like you got a neat one too. I've always liked the first genners.

I've read your whole build and have been following it over there in "retard land" (thats pretty damn funny by the way, I had a chuckle) Have you thought about doing a flat bed instead of an actual truck bed? That might solve your issues with finding a nice frame that works with what you already have? And if done right a flat bed looks pretty good on a 3/4 ton in my opinion. Theres a girl I know that drives an 01 2500 CC SB with a flat bed on it and it looks pretty damn good. Just a thought, take it or leave it. Other then that sweet build.
