have a new vp44, new lift pump, new injectors, truck wont start. Posibly crankshaft position senser, throttle position sensor? Need help or advice

Thanks didnt pay attention while cranking, did find crank sensor though, just behind starter on side of block.

You have enough fuel in it? sending units go bad very often and 1/4 tank is empty

ok no crank sensor, do have some fuel at injectors when bleeding lines, 15psi from 5/8" line to inj pump. could something electronic cause inj pump not to pressurise?

Black Ice, did you just install the new pump and now have this problem, or did this happen after some time driving the truck after the install? Did I not see your truck in Numidia???? If not, someone ids using your name :hehe:

right, 2001 doesnt have the crank sensor behind starter, i was mistaken. Truck died after electric kill switch was pulled at a pull. unhooked kill switch to eliminate this problem. still wouldnt start. removed injection pump sent to II, checked out ok. reinstalled pump, still wont start.

Wrong! The cam position sensor and Crankshaft position sensor are incorporated on an 01 and 02, the sensor does both functions.

they did away with the crankshaft position sensor on the 01 and 02's, its not incorporated into the cam sensor. by knowing where the cam is the ECM can determine where the crank is (mainly cylinder #1 being at TDC) but it doesnt know if its TDC between exhaust and intake stokes or 180* out, between compression and power strokes.

either way, this doesnt sound like your issue.

id check the ground for the vp44, or something with the fuel cut you has set up.

just printed a wiring schematic for ecm and vp44, going to check for good grounds and voltages where it should be

there are 2 black/brown wires that go to the passanger battery, one comes from near the alternator, the other from the harness on the firewall. these are the VP44 and PCM grounds. i had a bad connection to the block when I removed the passanger battery and the truck was bucking and dead pedaling like mad. so you may want to start there. they are connected directly to the passy battery so if the ground to the block on that side is shotty it may cause issues as well.

did you unplug the cam sensor when you did the pump and forget to plug it in?

i have removed the pass batt, had issues with the ground but think its fixed, thanks

did you check the cam sensor plug like duallyspeed said, sometimes the simplest things are the ones that will piss you off the most.
