Need Help-Excessive Blow By

my compression tester holds the current value and doesnt go back to 0 each time, therefore it would not show a crack any where other than tdc

if you test it at during the compression stroke the intake valve will be closed very close to bdc.

i understand this. whats stopping the 100psi of shop air pushing the piston to BDC.

and again i say. compression test tests the entire stroke. if 17:1 compression makes 500 psi, and theres a leak at the middle, its not going to have 17:1 compression and its not going to be at 500 psi when it gets to the top. :kick:

thats not how it works. compression test is using the pressure the motor makes. like i said in the other post it takes ALL of the compression test to make what psi its supposed to be at. if your getting good readings the only way its compression related is if its loosing compression somewhere at operating temp and not when its cold.
