My favorite is the Jesus Counter. LOL

Yes! LOL

Pop..... Around here it's a coke... no matter whether it's a Coke, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi.. When someone asks you what you want to drink, and you say "Coke", they ask what kind of Coke.

I avoid all this confusion by just drinking beer.

That's how it is here, too.

No beer for me.

soda pop
pop
coke
pepsi
soft drink

when they cant figure out what i want to drink, i rattle off, " can i have some cabonated water flavored in ________, please?" All in a rather distastfull tone of voice, which is usually followed by a blank dumb founded look by the reciepant.

another one, buggies/shopping carts.
buggies, get pulled pack animals.
shopping carts, get shoved, pulled, wheelied by humans.

btw pink you got your ITS/IT'S backwards
"It's" vs. "Its"

Are you positive sir? Because if so... I'm gonna buy you a beer.

Actually its supposed to state, wrong not backwards. Goose's first 'its' is short for it is, and not showing ownership. His second one, could be read either way.

You mean "deer"

Huh?

No, it's "dear". A term of endearment, lol!

What's his face gave me some unwarranted grief, some months back. He was told by some members in here, to scram. I think he just likes drama. Hence being Malibu Barbie.

actually quite the contray... noone told me anything negative. while several did strongly disagree with me no-one told me to "scram".

if i WAS actually a pansy barbie as you imply, i would have not continued to post in this thread.

randall.
look at the example in the link i posted. "its" is short and always has been short for "it has" or "it is"

please show me where there is ownership/possision that woudl require "it's"?

example of ownership/posseision..
My 79 malibu, its been paint once before, it's in need of a frame off restoration.

is the correct usage of both "its" and "it's"

He is in perfect shape, for a Thoroughbred. The vets are so pleased with how great he looks, I get compliments often! TBs are naturally thinner!

^^THAT is skinny. That's the day I got him. He is so full of sass, I doubt he'd make good eating. LOL

Pink-a-boo!

It's Thursday!

:hehe:

I see what you did there. You are going to make our Malibu Barbie friend, mad. I don't care, I just have him on ignore. That way I do not have to read his ramblings, and poor grammar, anymore. ;)

"It's is a contraction for it is or it has.

Its is a possessive pronoun meaning, more or less, of it or belonging to it.

And there is absolutely, positively, no such word as its'.

A simple test

If you can replace it[']s in your sentence with it is or it has, then your word is it's; otherwise, your word is its."

Source:"It's" vs. "Its"

Or

"The confusion between it's and its occurs because on virtually every other word 's indicates possession, so English speakers naturally want to use it's to mean "something belonging to it." But it's is only used when it's a contraction of it is or it has.

The ironclad rule - no exceptions - is that if you can replace the word with "it is" or "it has," use it's. Otherwise, it's always its."
