New project : barrowed for 65 dasys

Haha, I never bolt anything to the frame. Unless I know it has to come off in the future for maintenance, everything gets welded

Hey Brandon
Do yo reccoment something like this :

or regular style bars

Those 2 leaf springs are as soft as stock 1500 ram rear springs
I like the top one or a floating ladder bar. They allow suspension travel without changing the pinion angle. If you only have 65 days to build, I would only concentrate on getting it down the track and forget the suspension tweaks.

The suspension tweaks might be needed ..:lolly:

I got nice link with balljoints from local tractor shop, they cost only $80 pair.

I just have to create connection points and extend it as much needed.

Also seats are installed.

The cab will be installed on the frame after suspension upgrade are done and engine/tranny/transfercase are installed.

The cab is sitting on 98 1500 frame and I use it as mobile cab stand :hehe:

Most of the workstock guys around here do that with their pulling trucks. We use 2x2" .25" wall tubing, cut the tractor links in half and slide them in each end. You may be able to mount it parallel outside the frame depending on what tires you run.

No matter what direction you choose, I can tell you mine was most happy at -6 degrees of pinion angle.

Some specs about engine:

regular Storm block, stock crank and conrods
firerings and stock bolts
marine 370HP pistons
stock 12V cam -unfortunatley no good race cam's available with reasonable price
5x18 injectrors
marine visco dampner
laminated flexplate
12V head with marine valves
dual valvesprings
no intercooler
water/meth injections
twins 71mm He551Vgt+ 85mm K-37
13mm pump with quick fill cam, 5k gsk
.120 injector lines
Aeromotive fuel press regulator
homemade aluminium fuel tank and hardcore electric fuel pump :evil

Still lack of time and money  , but I do my best

More parts have arrived, but progress is very slow .
, the main reason is lack of $$$$

The barrowed front axle from 99 is in, but new problem with Dana80 rear brakes.

Thanks to long standing, the left side brake shoe holding brakets are corroded and brake cylinder is not functional. :badidea:

Looks like I have to do the Dana 80 disc brake swap now , instead next winter like I have planned.

update: rear top home made traction bars are done

Unfortunatly no pictures, because my camera memory card is dead , I have to find the new card

On Monday the cylinder head will go to machining .

Still waiting tranny parts and some items from Haisley :pop:

I am also looking sponsors LOL ,

if you have some extra $$ and no use for it , send me the PM :lolly:

This build is not dead, just slow in progress .... :soap: only 2.5 weeks remaining :tree:

or 1 year and 2.5 weeks for next year race :lolly:

Some needed parts have finally arrived:
water/meth nozzles
NOS nozzle :nos:
TCI outlaw shifter
Dana 80 brake parts
DakotaDigital tachho kit
Haisley rod bolts
Haisley 5kgsk spring kit
tranny billet parts

and some 'special 'items

Mean time the cylinderhead have lost the intake manifold... LOL and block have machined for o-rings.

All I can say: this is very expencive hobby

I were today on pump shop to check progerss on my 13mm pump build.

It was assembled and mounted on thest bench. Yesterday when they start testing the flow , at 19mm rack travel ańd 850cc (500rpm) the Bosch test bench broke down (2 measuning compensators stat leaking)

LOL

The bump is nothing special, based on 911 pump : Haisly 5 Ksk, bigger delivery valves and holders (Bosch) with new Bosch 13mm p&b

edit: I will continiue with the build for next year race
