I bought a turbo for a really good price and want to see what you think of it for my truck I have an 01 with fass 150 pump and intake with free flow filter and mach 1.6 90 hp injectors and a comp box ,magnaflow exhaust . The turbo is an innovative dual ball bearing with a 65-90 comp wheel and the tubine is 65-75 wheel with a .82 ar. let me know what you think
 
it should spool quick, but i think it will choke at higher rpm's

its probably going to surge down low too

its very similar to a 64/65/12 s300
 
I was worried about the turbine housing but i wasnt sure just by the numbers and the .82 ar measurement is not what im use to hearing about. So I didnt know how to compare it to the turbos we all talk about all the time.
 
its small

the turbo will work and spool, it just has a very limited optimal operation range

Exactly....have you guys ever tried a charger like that on a VP truck??

It's not like he has 4K RPM to play with. And I'm seeing 90hp injectors.

I think it will be a pretty nice charger for a VP truck...if it's an auto, it might surge a bit on lockup, but shouldn't be too bad.

Doesn't help...but shouldn't hurt too much at your power levels.

is it a t3 or t4 housing?

i retract my earlier statement about quick spooling, im less familiar with a/r
 
It is a t3, So you dont think it will spool quickly or something else.?

That T04S cover without an MWE tends to surge. Overall it should work well, limit quickly lifting the throttle under full load however.
 
Ok but why will it break the shaft and bark.My hx35 12 barks alot now.And what do you all mean by surge
 
It will bark....barking is literally stopping the turbo from full speed, then it taking back off again. It can break the shaft!


Surging is the same thing....but typically, we call it a bark when coming off the throttle, and surge is when you are accelerating, and it does it.

my assumption a/r ratios was off compared to my prior readings thats all

with a t3 and the smaller a/r size it should work well, other than the surging issue smokem said

Thats cool thanks, what size would you say this is equivalent in a holset ? -12 cm or 14 cm?
