Have an issue with my 2nd gen. Had the motor pulled and installed a new clutch. Manual transmission stayed in the truck. Now, no brake lights or 3rd brake light. Fuses are good, and my mechanic installed a new brake switch. Any ideas would be fantastic, 'cause I'm out.

Thanks in advance

you pulled the motor to change the clutch?
does the switch have power?

Try turning your hazards on and back off then check your brake lights. Can you hear your cruise control box clicking when you hit the brake?

Adam, I had the motor rebuilt, and they replaced the clutch when the motor was out. I'll have my mechanic check out what was suggested, thanks,

Saw this on facebook last night and it seemed fitting.

It's weird that pulling the motor would cause the brake lights to quit. Maybe a wire got pinched putting it back in.?

If he has the program OnDemand5, start trouble shooting with it. A "power probe" would make short work of it.

Id double check that the brake switch is engaging far enough. Ive had the same issues on fully rebuilt trucks here. Just tweak the bracket and its good to go again.

Something got pinched or cut when the motor went back in from the sounds of it.
