No of on a stock 97

I picked up a bone stock 97 auto 2wd for my youngest daughter to drive. When it shifts into overdrive it feels like you put it in neutral. Any ideas what to do first ?? I just want to fix it not crank this one up.

od solenoid not working, electronics controlling od not working, or od unit clutches are toast

It seems to shift into od but it just free wheels. Last time I pulled one apart with a Burnt up od clutches it would not move in any gear.

Overdrive brake clutches are probably burned up. If they are burnt, all other gears will work fine, then, when it shifts to overdrive and disengages the overdrive direct clutches, it will "free wheel" if you let off and not have engine braking, making it feel like neutral.
