I picked up some nitrous hose to plumb a mechanical fp gauge on my brother's truck. Along with aeroquip fittings, needle valve, and permatex #2, I couldn't get the damn thing sealed. Is there a trick to getting these fittings tight enough (short of cracking the Al) to seal?

Damn, I suck at MS Paint

I plan on remaking the system starting with braided hose with no fittings and going from there with new aeroquip fittings.

Are the hose ends red or blue? Red is traditional for fuel. I know my Blue nitrous lines will leak down if I try to keep pressure in them. I assumed it was because the higher pressure. Make sure you're using the correct -AN fittings. You will need to teflon all NPT fittings.

bnraond.

at such low pressure (i've seen those hoses hold 2000psi) a 1/4 turn past finger tight should be more than enough. make sure your fittings are 37 degree flare and not 45. if not its a bad hose or you overtightened the fitting to start with. more often than not leaks are from overtorqued fittings
