nv4500 4th gear only?

driving from Dallas to Houston just stop pulling the case is full makes a small noisewhen in gear ( clutch out ) when you shift you can hear the shifter clicking gears but when you let out the clutch truck doesn't move only in 4th , trans is a 96 4x4 4500 motor is rebuilt stock , 95 180 ppump boost elbow 40 pSI max stock replacement clutch lost as far as what is wrong need help ,I haven't pulled it out yet but trying to get opinions , all help greatly appreciated .
 
5th gear nut backed off. Buy the upgrade kit from dodge. Pull the tail housing and torque it on.
 
I don't think that is it because I don't have 1,2,3,5 or reverse ,I have driven trucks without 5th an all other gears worked ,.mine has 5th gear lock nut
 
I would say you wiped the teeth off the input shaft or the counter shaft
 
Yeah your input shaft/counter shaft teeth are gone. and your only lockin the input to the main shaft for 4th (direct).
 
If you come to my shop in Gonzales I have remans on exchange basis for $1200. 1 year warrenty. If your interested.
 
Any idea why only have 10k on rebuild hasn't seen a trailer sense rebuild ,the fluid isn't burnt ,does anyone know were I can trans cooler for the next one I've seen them some were but I can't remember where I saw them ?
 
LazerSmith had the Trans coolers I belive. And it may be just lack of a poor rebuild or driving habits/errors.
 
Thanks for the info, I'll be pulling it out today picked up a 94 nv4500 from a buddy for cheap .
 
counter shaft walked backwards and broke my transfer case adapter , an I'm just to dumb to post pics (don't know how) .
 
Use photobucket. Copy the image tag and paste it in the response box.

You can use your smart phone for that. I do all the time.
