nv5600 and np271

i have seen two diffrent dhd's small and big output which does it have looking for a 1.5 outputshaft
 
the small output transfer cases have a two piece rear tailshaft housing just like the dld the big shaft has the one pice housing just like the one he is trying to sell. the shift pattern is different on the two too. the small shaft was on the 94-97 trucks and i think they went to the big shaft when the 98 interior change took place.

You can get the big output transfer cases prior to 98. I think 95 or 96. Best way to get them is look for a dually with 3.54 gears in 1996 or newer.
 
When I was doing my searches for a DHD, the best I came up with was that the auto trans trucks with the DHDs had a smaller input and output than the manual trans trucks with the DHDs. The tailshaft housing was the easiest way to spot the difference, but the truth lies in the numbers on the tag.
