Okay....this is strange....

Tim, I put on a known good APPS from DisplacedMexneckican and have my old one. It works fine but flutuated a little bit in the 18-20% range at about 65 mph. I'd be glad to send it to ya and you can swap and see if that fixes it then you'll know fo sho if you buy a new one your problem will go away.

Lemme know and I'll send it to ya. You can just send it back when you are done. :D

Another idea. Use a scanner tool, attitude, whatever and observe the % throttle when this happends. If it is constant.....you be buyin' a VP yo.

would'nt a code be set if the vp pump bad? I have a vp pump that does that and chip (blue chip) said it was the black box on top of it causing that problem also requiring pump replacement. No codes were set. I now have a cranking problem and am not sure if it is the vp pump.
Thanks Eddie

If you are having hard starts, the VP is probably chitting the bed. Mine has been acing fine all weekend... I dunno what this trucks problem is....

Mine started fine. Just the dead pedaled more and more (longer and longer). Tried all the Apps tricks and unhooking the batteries and such. Dead pedal got so bad that I finally replaced pump and its been fine ever since. Knock on wood.

I got tons of dead pedal when my Cam sensor was talking a dump too.

Assuming your talking to me. Pressure is 18 lbs at the pump. I have to get starter fixed today, then I am going to check the fuel coming out to injectors.
Thanks Eddie
Yes but also Timbeaux,

10PSI or below will give you a "dead pedal" At times $.02

the time I had a dead pedal you could hold the pedal still at any position and a few seconds later throttle response would come back. That was the black box on top of the IP.

I changed the starter and the truck starts better and runs great, better than it has in awhile. Explain that.
Thanks Eddie

You popped the battery terminals off, correct?

These trucks are VERY sensitive to voltage and grounds, there is your explanation.

maybe its an electrical issue but we all hate the other word lol

tim ive got a 35k mile vp if u need one

Had this happen to my 98.5 a couple years ago. I adjusted the APPS and no good. Finally put a new one on along with a new cam sensor and problem solved.
