Got the stainless housing 13 cm from HTT with the temporay fix and cranked the spring down all the way, with Smarty on SW5 timing 3 and stock rail p and pressure box off hit 85 psi drive pressure with total boost of only 65psi. So I guess the temporary fix is working for now, it's time to loosen up the gate a little.

now it's time for a little :nos:

just to see how strong the orings and 625's are.

Danny

I'd venture that just regular studs w/ no o-rings probably would have held 65psi of boost for just a quick blast without much worry

If Mariah Carey had a nut sack, I'm sure the sound that turbo made would be almost as shrill as if you kicked her in it.

Whatever cranks your tractor...

Is that a challenge sir????????

Don't push me, I think I am ready for the superdog and water to go on, heck I gotta get the truck tore down again, I mean, I have been driving it for almost a week now. Time to mess some chit up again, right?

Yeah 65 psi boost ain't all that much but 85 psi of drive pressure is quite a bit. I will do whatever necessary to get this thing over 800, I am sick of this 700 some odd crap. Amish, it didn't sound nice but it shore did crank my tractor. Forrest, this was on the 62 charger on top of my twins, I was starving my poor little S480.

Yeah, but considering the max boost I was making was 74 before I got the wastegate fixed I see it as a good thing, it means the wastegate fix is working, at least for now. I must admit, I am one of those guys that overbuilds chit and wouldn't think of having my fuel and air setup without o-rings and studs. Jay

Amish, I am not sure what the 480 was contributing, but it wasn't a lot, I have got wayyyy too many gauges (total 7) and can't watch them all when the fur is flying.

Do you feel comfortable running timing 2? what size injector do you have?

Timing 2 with these injectors is definatly pushing things to the limits.

What size are "these".

I have 150hp sticks No rattle on TNT/R timing 2 software 5. If you flood things with low RPM and low boost, you can get a nice rattle, sometimes even on timing 3. Seems to be a bit smokier for me under under the turbo, but once the turbo spooled timing 2 is very nice.

I tryed the same thing....Tightened my spring ALL the way down so the WG can't open....Seems to run pretty good.....now I just need to get these injectors tested....I'm still not sure what i've got going on with the low rpm/ low boost sputter.....other than that, we'll see......I should be dyno'ng on Sat......It'll be a little hot out, but we'll see If I can get close to my old numbers.......I really just wanna get back to the track to see if the times are back after the turbo fix...

There's a lot of top missing if you lock the gate down on a 13cm. Tryed it once and drive was well over 100lbs. Seat of the pants you could "feel" the constipation.....LOL

yeah dave @ htt a few times over and over tells me much over 45psi of boost, the 64/13ss is on the edge of too much

One of these days I'll get a drive pressure gauge and tune to that

both Chris and I have flux 4.3's about 215 hp. I am going to timing 2 for the dyno, gets the fuel in sooner so more of the burn occurs in the cylinders and less is lost in the exhaust system, where reliance on ability to load the truck and make boost to make power is greater. I know I have the fuel for 800, she was a smoke pig that day at TS. Jay

Joe, what about locking the gate down for dynoing with an inertia dyno, both chris and I had ours locked down for those runs in hope of helping spoolup, are you saying that locking the gate down on an inertia dyno will tend to hurt the numbers? Seemed as if my truck didn't ever spool well cause max boost on the dyno was 64 and peak hp was very late like at 3200 rpm
