From a rules standpoint only (not looking for the dual vs single wheel is better debate)

If duallies are allowed to run in a class, then should a single wheel truck be allowed to bolt dual wheels on to make it even. The rules do not say anything about dual wheels NOT being legal, it doesnt even mention them.

Now if the class is a "Modified Street" meaning basically you are allowed all your basic bolt ons, and up to a 2.8 turbo, but the truck must be licensed and tagged for the street. They go as far as not allowing hanging weights because a street truck doesnt drive around with weights on the front...so does that definition put a gray area in the rules?

:poke:

I don't see where it would be fair to allow no haging weights my truck hooks twice as good with some weight out front on the dual wheels part if a truck comes in and has dual wheels bolted to a single wheel truck it just looks retarded. I don't care if it does pull better I have yet to see it help most just my opinion though

In my opinion if they let factory duallies pull, then SRW trucks should be allowed to bolt up a set of duals as well.

we asked the same ? to the buck they didnt even hesatate "no way" i think its evens things up

haha i think you knew where i was going with this.

im gonna bring it up in the drivers meeting that i think its unfair that duallies can pull and i cant add extra tires

I hope they change their minds because next year I plan on swapping in an 80 out of a duallie.

yea it was brought up at the first drivers meeting "we dont see any realll andvantage that dually's have over srw and keep in mind this is street legal class. your not gonna see guys go down the road with tires sticking out way past the fenders" i guess ill have to bring my duals in case you get it past haha

keep in mind these are the same guys that say before mod street comes up to pull "now these guys might have a lil more done something like a.... different chip or air intake"-oz if he only knew

the guys at the buck let people that they know bend the rules all the time. i stopped pulling there because of the stock bumper rule. they state you must have the factory bumper but yet i got beat in the pull off by less than a foot by a guy with a ranch hand bumper in the street class. i brought up the rule that is clearly stated in their rules and i was told to drop it or they would kick me out.

they dont bend rules for guys like me from Md...i need some Pa plates so i can run my duals. j/k

well i guess im gonna have to put the pa plate on the front of my truck too so maybe they will help me out a lil more

I'd put it on the back because here in the keystone we don't run front plates. lol

It sucks to hear that the buck likes to suck certain peoples peepee's. I was planning on running down there a few times next season. But after hearing about the BS down there I think I'll save the fuel money instead.

the ONLY problem with the gray area that you mention is when they call for a street legal truck if you dont have the dual wheels covered then it is by law in MD not legal. if you can cover the outer tires to a vertical plane from the sidewall then it is legal.

I am sure you are probaly talking about the higher classes but I run in street stock, of course with a dually. Around here the work stock classes haven't said anything but heard a few pulls aren't allowing them. This sucks for me cause I didn't want a srw truck but I love to pull. I feel it is STOCK so let me pull, just like most of the other guys didn't want a dually so they pull with their STOCK truck. Just like a 6.4 coming with stock compound turbo set up should guys be able to run compounds. I feel stock is stock. Why not get some dually bubbles and stick them on at the event LOL This is my veiw from the other side of this debate.

Yea you have to keep in mind that it doesnt have to be legal in Pa as long as it is legal in the state the truck is registered. Go to dmv and get the law book for operating of a motor vehicle and show them were it is legal in your state and then they cant say its not legal. Example: in the state of Va i can run a electric power steering pump to instead of the oem power steering pump hence hydralic steering. The only thing they say is that when you flip the switch it has to work. They may not like it but its street legal in my state:rockwoot: SOrry that thier state laws suck:kick:

Unless it is specifically stated that it is not allowed in the class, but in this case its not.

Not trying to nitpick, but the 6.4 does not have compound turbos, but rather 2 single stage units that work in sequence.

Big difference between the two.

my sts's on 16x10's stick out 4" past the fender, no flares, not legal in md...the duals stick out 6" from the bed
