Opinions on dual wheels

i think street legal means street legal. like it was said, if its good in your state then so be it. if not, get a set of the mega cab dually flares...it shouldnt matter what the original axle is. if its legal then hammer down. classes need rules to create close competition...

im all for innovation...its how we all end up with cool new parts.

tj i brought this up at the first pull at the buck during the drivers meeting. they wernt feeling it. i even said that the rules do not state anything about NOT being able to do it. so they said "well you dont see trucks driving around on the road like that". to which i said "well you dont see guys driving around with a headlight missing either, but you let guys pull like that". so they said "we are putting a stop to that"

i wish you luck at the drivers meeting and i hope you can get them to change their idea. IMO if a factory dually can run in the class then everybody should be allowed to. it doesnt matter weather you think it makes a difference or not, but atleast its fair for everyone.

i also tried to hit them up on hanging weights in the mod-street and they wernt feeling that either. they said "people come here to see street trucks". so if thats the reasoning, then when the guy who takes 1st in the mod-street lays down an awesome CROWD PLEASING run, blowing smoke, slining dirt, and jerkin the sled 330'.............is the crowd going to boo, and ask for their money back?????

good luck. let me know how you make out. i wont be there saturday, i got a wedding to go to.

yea some things need to change, if they have that rules meeting this fall i will make sure i can attend to try and voice my opinion on a few things to help clear up those gray areas.

you mentioned the headlight thing, but what about the trucks with the torsion bars let down to slam the front end until their tires rub, if they are gonna enforce this "you dont drive like that on the street" deal then they need to address all the issues.

congrats on the baby Ian

I think duals should be allowed on a single wheel truck in a 2.5+ class. Its no different than a factory dually other than you dont have fenders, and who really cares about that.

Eric

Congradulations on the baby.

It's been talked about. I might have Brett take it down for me.

yea get that truck there and see how it does in the right gear. or i have a better idea have a look alike take your spot at the wedding.

when do they have these meetings i would like to attend also

and thanx for the congrats

since we are changing rules at the buck, let the street guys run any turbo as long it doesnt exceed the 2.5 limit, not picking on any brand here but its not rocket science to see that the street class is not a level playing field.
2.8 street truck??? yea right:bang I say hang weight and run duels if you like.
I think all us pullers should gang up on old Ozzie and tell him to adapt nadm rules or something.
Congrats on the baby Ian,I can run your truck for you on sat:hehe:

i have the same feeling you need to have some boundries, but just make it a 2.8 class who cares if you drive it on the street or not i can but who wants to chew up those nice soft 10,000mi (tops) truxus' on the street

rumor has it you want to let me run those 35s truxus' this weekend. you coming to shake up the street class a lil saturday

tj most of us drive to the pulls with the torsion bars down, so yea we drive on the street like that. I see what ya mean about the duals, but its not like you need them to win up there, ur truck hooks hard wit the sts. I agree some of there rules are a lil different. c ya there
