p7100 gear key

i haven't hit it with air yet, cause i don't have line to reach it out at the shop. that thing is on there tho.... been banging on it with a BAS hammer for about 30 min and cranking down on the puller and nothing. getting kinda frustrating. is there someway to maybe loosen up the pump and put a board on the front of it and try to push the pump backwards? any thoughts on this method? thanks guys
 
i'd be nervous about damaging the gear housing with that method. try to get your hands on another hose to get air out to that thing! it'll be worth it
 
putting the board on the steal pump housing and trying to push it backwards? my father-in-law, said maybe it's reverse threaded before i got the nut off so he whacked it on real good for me.... lol
