I highly suggest a mount like this if you ever have to install your weight box alone.

good point, its too nice to lay around but you need to get that white truck right for next year!

the bottom is 2"X3" angle notched for the 2"x2" square tubing for the box and 2 1/2" square tubing for the receiver on the truck

then 1"x1" angle on the top

skinned with 3/16"plate and 1/2" solid stock bent for the handles

hope this helps.

Here are a couple more pics of the bowtie weight box- under construction and finished product on the correct truck.

It is built out of 3/8 plate all the way around- weighs 400#. That gets me close to weight and then i fine tune it with various plates.

Here is a weight box that i built for a Fummins pull truck- and the bracket to mount it to the truck with.

This box is made out of 3/16'' plate and weighs about 140#s.

The bracket is 1'' box for the frame work with 1''x3'' solid bar for the actual mount point to the truck.
The bracket is now enclosed with diamond plate and houses the lift pump, fuel cell, oil filters, and batteries.

Anyone else have pics of how they mount these heavy boxes to the truck frame. I am going to be making one for my 01 reg cab and it will also hold 100# of ice. I can hang 1300# off the front now. I'm just not sure if my brackets now will work.

Here's couple more
