pistion protrusion?

Anyone know the spec that the pistion protrudes above the cylinder deck?

um...on a Cummins? Can't be any...flat head.

Normal piston protrusion is around .022 - .028

Pretty sure its .012 proud at least the last 2 stock motors I took apart thats were it was.

shoot...I stand really corrected. Not much room left in there other than the bowl. I thought it was flush...and gasket was the "safety"...

.012 is where mine was... .006 now.

LOL 6 thou too much.....I'm thinking you mean a 20 thou thicker gasket, which should be .060, in that case your fine.

Spec is .006 to .019, but considering your using a thicker gasket your good to go.
