I know this has been beatin to death, what piston has a centered bowl ? no offset at all. the 12v is out of the question, is the marine piston bowl centered ? doe's anyone have pictures of common rail pistons (both)

Weston,
Will the c/r pistons hold up ? planning on rebuilding by 12v bottom end with c/r pistons (what year), 24v head,p-pump,twins...

price is a concern, heard the ross pistons don't like street/daily driving.

Marines are offset

Is that a 15.3:1 compression ratio marine piston?

What do the common rails run in terms of compression ratio? 17.5:1?

The OEM CR slugs are a better aluminum alloy for high combustion temps than the 12V pistons.

Someone posted these as being a 04.5+ piston. They don't look quite the same as the ones smokem listed above?

Anyone have pics of the ISB 275 or 300 pistons?

Those are 03-04 Pistons. The ones Smokem posted up are 04.5+

Thanks for the info...

I would like to know the bowl cc's of both of those (03-04 and 04.5+) if anyone has them.

Can anyone identify this piston?

I think thats one of the new variable compression ratio pistons from Banks....

It spins faster as the BS goes up. I believe that one was on Gales own truck.

This is a pretty good thread. I might be getting a block soon and am wondering if the CR pistons would be a better solution.

The Rv 275 pistons are suppose to be made out of some good metals, since your going with a 24v head

Nope, those are mine! Industrial Piston with higher compression then milled
.060, that's what is in my 98'

My manual for my 04 engine says the factory CR on my 555 engine is 17.2:1. Not sure on the 04.5+ engines though... The bowl looks bigger...
