I am looking for some pictures of polished 12 valve rods. I have read in to it and have learned a decent amount. Just for comfort I would like to see a few before I try it on a core set of rods. Thanks

I saw that. Looks like he only did the beams. It looks like there are about 500 different ways to go about it

You can pretty much do it however you want. The most consistent finish would be to cover the bearing surfaces and put them in a vibrator/tumbler.

From what I have read there is a bit of method to the madness

I did just the beams, they are not a full polish but about a DA finish. the idea I went with was to take all the horizontal grinding marks off the rods, left from factory.

That's about exactly what I was thinking. Hope to see how it turns out on junk rods first

Here the rods I did for a mild build. I used a high speed belt grinder with a 280 grit belt. Then used a 3M Unitized wheel to polish the beams. After that I chryo'd the rods and added ARP bolts.

Its pretty...also relieves stress risers. Overkill though.

The gap between more and enough never changes.

Make sure you sand with the rod not across it.

^^ that's what I have read is to sand with not across. What did you use to clean them up?
