Has anyone done any port work on a 12 valve ats manifold? I have mine torn apart and will be porting out the head. I'm gonna try to get the exhaust ports close to gasket matched and noticed on the manifold the openings seem to be almost identical to the gaskets but right inside it ramps up to kind of a point or ridge. Is it designed like that for flow reasons or for strength?Would I be better off opening it up as far as i can? I would love to know if anyone has done port work on these and what the results were.

dont' gasket match the head and manifold... you'll have a port mismatch...

blend the square into the round, clean up the collector and smooth the transitions and call it good IMO

unless you port the mani to the size of the gasket and open the head up leaving aprox a 16th of an inch

smaller into bigger, like slipping 2 pvc pipes together.....
