Probably the weirdest thing I have ever seen

convertor drainback - it wasnt all of a sudden - it just finally gradually got to the top of the vent tube

perhaps an angry powerstroke owner sabotage?

How would this happen,, and if so where would it be leaking from? This seems to be coming directly from the oil pan, I will check it closer when I get back into town.

I am so baffled by this, it is driving me crazy, allmost couldnt sleep last night thinking about it

Well I know it cant be rats, we are rat free here,, well except for certain members of the government

I'm betting the tranny pan gasket went bad. I know my vac pump will leak a little if I let the truck sit for a few days without running. When I drive the truck every day there's never a leak. May be the same type thing here.

This is alot of leak, with no leak before. I would estimate many quarts of oil on the floor

Perhaps its just the first of April, and someone is playing with you... ?

What about the dipstick? I have had this happen before and it seemed like it came from the o-ring at the dipstick tube. These projects always know when you want to start working on them! :)

The dipstick tube,,,,, if a truck is off, how much oil can come out of the dipstick tube? I did pull the AC lines off at the firewall, and had to move the dipstick a little,, might have moved it enough,,, but really how much oil can come out of there??

A lot if the converter drained back into the trans. When the truck has not run all the fluid in it slowly drains into the pan. Your pan gasket or dipstick o ring could have cracked from lack of driving and 1 or 2 qts oil on the ground looks like a couple of gallons.

oh it is definately alot of oil, it left a river of oil the whole length of the truck, and along the garage door, and under the cabinet. But I did move the dipstick and possibly moved it enough to dislodge it... I would estimate 5 or 6 quarts minimum

If there's 16qts in there, the pan holds 4 and there's 2 more below the dipstick seal. That's 10qts above the dipstick seal that could have come out.

a seal or gasket just dried up from sitting there, no big deal unless its some really important seal

well, if its not animal related, or common logic of failing seals or gaskets,............. then .........yep.............. your wife or girl friend really really hates your truck................... maybe...........
