Pump Timing: I screwed this up Like a Boss

what is every ones view on the accuracy of the blue point diesel timing light kit? That is what we had used on that truck and it show's 9* on the light but according to the chart is at 17*. I would think that the pulse in the line is when the real inj event is happening being that there are different injectors and what not with higher pop off psi effect timing of spray. Opinions????? should we add more lift to get timing with the light to 17*?
Stock lines? What pop psi?

Stock lines, stock pump, 181 delivery valves, and the pop off on the 5x.014 injectors is around 280 if I remember correctly. 17 degrees static, 9 on the light. Light is clipped just above the injector, where the line is still vertical.

Its a very good possibility that 9 is accurate. Even if you figure the light being maybe 2* off that could put you at 11*. With the injector pop and line swell I bet its pretty close.

Makes me wonder if I should bump it up just a little more. Just not sure about going much over 17 on the stock gasket. But is 17 the safe limit on the light or static/plunger lift?

PS: Rechecked the chart, I'm actually at 16.5 degrees static.
